History
The College of Winterhold was founded thousands of years ago and has been the center of magical learning in Skyrim. Despite the Great Collapse that destroyed most of Winterhold, the College remains standing, protected by powerful magic.

Joining
To join the College, you must demonstrate magical ability by casting a spell at the entrance. Speak to Faralda, who will test your skills before allowing entry.

- Apprentice - Initial rank upon joining
- Journeyman - After completing initial quests
- Evoker - After completing more quests
- Conjurer - Advanced rank
- Warlock - Expert rank
- Arch-Mage - The leader of the College, achieved after completing the questline
Quests
The College questline involves investigating mysterious magical anomalies, exploring ancient ruins, and eventually confronting a powerful threat to the College and all of Skyrim.
